BIPOC individuals face significant disparities accessing mental-health care, driven by systemic barriers including a lack of provider diversity, systemic racism, financial barriers, cultural stigma, and language barriers.
To make it easier for BIPOC individuals in Northeastern Wisconsin to find culturally relevant mental-health care services and supports, we’ve compiled resource pages for the different BIPOC communities. Each resource page features local and state resources; culturally specific hotlines and helplines; national therapy finders for BIPOC mental-health professionals who offer telehealth services; and a curated list of mental-health advocacy organizations and resource guides for BIPOC communities.
Please help us continually improve these resource pages. To add a program, service or resource to these pages, please contact Wendy Harris with the N.E.W. Mental Health Connection at wendy@newmentalhealthconnection.org.
