Mental Health Awareness Month 2022

The Northeast Wisconsin Mental Health Connection is excited to celebrate May Mental Health Awareness Month this year by showcasing the many mental health programs and services that exist in our local community.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Resource-Rich Community” and we invite you to take part in the month-long campaign. Here are the details and how your agency or organization can participate.

Here’s what we have planned:

We are planning a month-long social media campaign, beginning May 1, that highlights our community’s many mental health programs and services. We will share posts on The Connection’s Facebook and Instagram pages. We invite you to like and share the posts from your agency or organization’s social media accounts.

Here’s what we need from you:

1. If you are a member agency, please share a program or service that you would like to promote. We want to highlight all the many services that our community might not be be well aware of, whether that is something new, underutilized and perhaps invisible to the general public.

We want to flood social media with all kinds of different services that don’t have the kinds of waitlists we are experiencing in traditional outpatient mental healthcare.  Please fill out this Google form with a description. We also invite you to upload a logo (and any images) associated with your program/service. You can also consider sharing client testimonials on this post.

  1. Please review and update, if necessary, your program or service listing in our mental health/substance use service directory at MyConnectionNew.org. Click the dropdown menu “Services & Support Groups”, then “Update Any Listing”, then search your agency name. This is important because each post will include a link to your program/service listing within MyConnectionNew.org.
  1. Once we have your submission, we will edit it into a social media post (complete with a cool graphic) and let you know when in May we plan to share it, so you can be on the lookout. We also invite you to share out all the other posts throughout the month!

We also plan to use hashtags and to “boost” these posts with paid advertising through FaceBook and Instagram so we can reach and engage a wide and diverse audience in Northeastern Wisconsin. This is a benefit of your paid membership of The Connection!

If we have any questions about your submission, we will reach out to you. Likewise, if you have any questions, please contact us.  Please email Wendy Harris at wendy@newmentalhealthconnection.org
